Waterloo, Ontario, May 2, 2006 -- Waterloo-based semiconductor and electronics company Dalsa Corp. said Monday it will establish a new business unit, Dalsa Asia-Pacific, after "a careful study of the Asia-Pacific markets."
The business will operate as a sales, support and marketing unit that will work with distributors to promote its digital imaging standard products in the Asia-Pacific region. Dalsa said it will be entirely funded within existing budgets and targets for 2006.
As of May 1, Keith Reuben, president of the Dalsa Coreco business unit, is president of the new unit, and Jim Roberts, executive vice president and general manager of Dalsa's Vision for Machines, now heads Dalsa Coreco, which will be combined with Vision for Machines to form Dalsa Digital Imaging. Reuben will be located in Canada but will spend much of his time in the Asia Pacific region, Dalsa said. Dalsa has offices in Tokyo and Beijing.
The North American and European sales organizations will not change and will be operated as they are currently managed, Dalsa said. Philip Colet, vice president of sales and marketing for Dalsa Coreco OEM products, and Dave Litwiller, vice president of sales and marketing for Vision for Machines, will continue to manage Europe and North American sales.
