Corning Inc. reached a milestone last week as it celebrated its 150th anniversary since it was founded in 1851 as the Corning Flint Glass Company. Corning is one of only 16 companies in the Fortune 500 to mark its sesquicentennial.
Multiplex Inc., a manufacturer of high-end optoelectronic components and subsystems, announced that it has appointed Robert J. Ott to the position of chief financial officer. As financial officer, Ott will team with Multiplex's operating management to develop and deliver the company's strategic and business goals.
    MRSI Group, providers of automated solutions for micro assembly and inspection, recently appointed Peter Cronin to the position of sales engineer. In his new position, Cronin will provide sales support for new and existing customers from MRSI Group's headquarters in North Billerica, Mass. Cronin most recently worked as an engineer for Lockheed Martin.
