Brian Giampaoli was hired as Southeast US regional sales manager at Infinova, a Monmouth Junction, N.J., maker of video surveillance, access control and fiber optic communications products. He will oversee the sale of fiber optic transmission, IP- and analog-based video cameras, IP-based matrix switches and digital video recording systems to corporate and government customers. Giampaoli was formerly the Northeast/mid-Atlantic regional sales manager for March Networks and was previously a regional sales manager and East Coast business manager for Silent Witness Enterprises. . . . Cree Inc., a Durham, N.C., maker of LED solid-state lighting components, announced it has signed an agreement with Vossloh-Schwabe Optoelectronic (VS Optoelectronic) to distribute Cree XLamp LEDs in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France and the Benelux countries (Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg). VS Optoelectronic, based in Lamp-Lintfort, Germany, is the LED unit of the Vossloh-Schwabe Matsushita Electric Works Group. Cree uses silicon carbide and gallium nitride material technology to produce semiconductor products including blue and green LEDs, radio frequency and microwave devices and power switching devices. It is also developing near-ultraviolet lasers.
