Motorola and LumenIQ, a Bellingham, Wash., maker of 3-D analysis tools for 2-D images for forensics, biometrics and health care applications, have signed a licensing agreement to use LumenIQ's 3-D imaging technology in Motorola's Printrak BIS (biometrics identification solution) workstations, which are used in fingerprint analysis. LumenIQ will provide its 3-D software module, AFIS-IQ, as a standard feature on all new installations and upgrades of the Printrak BIS. . . . Lockheed Martin's F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) team received the first laser system for the aircraft's electro-optical targeting system (EOTS) from BAE Systems Avionics, a subcontractor to Lockheed Martin on the JSF program, last week in Edinburgh, Scotland. The JSF EOTS laser system enables precision-range measurements and designates tactical targets for laser guided weapons. The F-35 JSF will be used by the US Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps and the UK Royal Navy and Royal Air Force. . . . Zygo Corp., a Middlefield, Conn., supplier of optical metrology instruments, precision optics and electro-optical design and manufacturing services, announced it has finalized a contract with a major customer to develop prototype production tools and accessories. Revenues of approximately $16 million will be spread over 18 months. The agreement is a follow-on to a second-phase development contract announced in the previous quarter.
