BinOptics Corp., an Ithaca, N.Y.-based supplier of microphotonic devices for optical systems, has appointed Harvey Spreckman as vice president of sales, responsible for global sales of integrated laser products. Spreckman is a co-founder of Tsunami Optics, which was acquired by Stratos Lightwave in 2002. BinOptics makes monolithically integrated laser chips, based on its etched facet technology, for datacom applications such as 10 Gigabit Ethernet, parallel optical interconnects, PON and CWDM, as well as non-telecom applications.
