Transbotics Corp. announced it has received an order for approximately $700,000 for an engineered-to-order vehicle designed to be used in the aviation industry. The company, based in Charlotte, N.C., makes automatic guided vehicles (AGVs), also known as transportation robots. . . . Corning Inc. and Promega Corp., of Madison, Wisc., announced today they will jointly develop, manufacture and market Pronto! Plus systems of reagents for self-printing microarrays. The companies said the systems, to be used by microarray research facilities, will contribute to the pharmaceutical industry's research efforts in gene expression analysis. . . . Avnet Applied Computing Solutions, a division of Avnet Inc., announced today it has a distribution agreement with Korean display manufacturer LG.Philips LCD, a developer of thin-film transistor liquid crystal display technology, to market its LCDs to computing OEMs and independent software vendors. The companies said they want to expand their presence in the multimedia, medical and point-of-sale industries.
