Zygo Corp. announced it has received an order from Northrop Grumman to supply custom sapphire windows to be used in the F-16 Block 60 aircraft integrated forward-looking infrared and targeting system. . . . MedX Health Corp. has signed a partnership agreement with Manfred Hubert and Steven Martin, who will join the company's research and development department and work on developing light-based products. MedX, based in Mississauga, Ontario, develops devices for phototherapy, which is used to treat various medical conditions. Hubert was most recently vice president of research at EXFO Photonic Solutions, of Quebec. He chairs the technical advisory committee of Photonics Research Ontario, is on the board of the Ontario Photonics Technology Industry Cluster (OPTIC) and is a member of the research review board for the Canadian Institute for Photonics Innovation. Martin was a senior scientist at EXFO and is the director of the Centre for Advanced Engineering Technologies at George Brown College, Toronto. He is on the OPTIC board and is a member of the conference technical review committee for the Toronto-based Centre for Microelectronics and Assembly Packaging. . . . Scientific Solutions Inc. (SSI), of North Chelmsford, Mass., has become the exclusive distributor in the US northeast region for Avantes, a Netherlands-based maker of fiber optic spectroscopy products such as spectrometers, light sources, software, fiber optic cables and probes, accessories and fiber optic sensor systems.
