Universal Display Corp., a developer of organic light-emitting device (OLED) technology, exhibited recent advances in its OLED applications at its annual meeting last week in Philadelphia, including a prototype of the U-Pack, an example of future wearable electronics made possible by lighter, thinner, flexible OLED (FOLED) display technology. Highlights also included a demonstration of AU Optronics Corp.'s 4.0-inch, flat-panel, full-color, active matrix OLED display screen incorporating amorphous silicon thin-film transistor technology and Universal Display's high-efficiency red phosphorescent OLED materials (PHOLED). Representatives of AIXTRON AG, DuPont Displays and PPG Industries attended the meeting.. . .Brillian Corp., a Tempe, Ariz.-based provider of microdisplay products and systems, announced it will name David N. K. Wang, PhD, to its board of directors when its spinoff from Three-Five Systems Inc. is completed in mid-2003. Wang is executive vice president of Applied Materials Inc.. . .Technical Manufacturing Corp., based in Peabody, Mass., has introduced its 2003-2004 catalog of precision vibration isolation systems. It includes a 26-page technical section, a primer on precision floor vibration isolation; optical tops, breadboards, and supports; laboratory tables and tabletop platforms; floor and sub-floor platforms and stands; isolators; accessories; and standard and custom configurations.
