Analog Modules Inc. has updated its eight-page Sensors and Amplifiers catalog of hybrid laser rangefinder receivers, analog photodetector-amplifier modules, linear and logarithmic amplifiers, pulse stretchers and fiber optic links. The catalog also includes information on compact, low-noise, high-voltage power supplies for photodetector biasing. Analog makes analog and electronic products primarily for the laser and electro-optics industries for applications in medical, military, scientific and industrial markets. Patent No. 6,571,116, "Medical Optical Imaging Scanner Using Multiple Wavelength Simultaneous Data Acquisition for Breast Imaging." The patent discloses the simultaneous acquisition of several wavelengths of light during an optical computed tomography scan, which would be used to acquire an absorption image and a fluorescence image. . . . Clemex Technologies Inc. (Longueuil, Quebec), a maker of image analysis systems and software used by quality control and research microscopy laboratories, said it has sold its second MaestroScope robotic imaging system, valued at over $125,000, to Belgium-based INVE Technologies NV. INVE's research and development division will use the system to quantify and classify Artemia (brine shrimp) in sea plankton. The system uses a robotic arm to manipulate and place microplates on a motorized microscope stage, and software to detect and quantify microorganisms.
