Schoettler, PhD, has been named chairman of the board, succeeding Morgan Nields. Schoettler has been a member of Fischer's board since January 2003 and has served as the chair of its corporate governance committee. She was recently named president and CEO of SenoLase Inc., a majority-owned Fischer subsidiary formed to develop a breast tumor ablation technology. Nields will continue as a member of the Fischer board and will be CTO of Fischer Imaging.
