Varian Inc. announced it has received its first European order for a 900MHz nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometer from the Swedish NMR Centre in Goteborg, Sweden. The system, valued at more than $5 million, is expected to be operational in late 2003. It will allow researchers to examine membrane-bound proteins and relaxation measurements for the study of protein dynamics.
