Eyal Lifschitz has been elected to Given Imaging Ltd.'s board of directors, effective immediately. Lifschitz is CEO and general manager of Peregrine Ventures, a venture fund focused on high-tech Israeli businesses; he also co-founded several medical technology and biotechnology companies. He replaces Giora Shalgi, president and CEO of Rafael Israel Armament Development Authority Ltd., who is resigning. Given Imaging is the developer of the M2A capsule endoscope, which uses a disposable miniature video camera contained in a capsule that is ingested by the patient. The M2A capsule passes naturally through the digestive tract, transmitting high-quality color images, without interfering with the patient's normal activities.
