Microvision Inc., a Bothell, Wash., maker of high-resolution displays and imaging systems, has signed a product development agreement with medical device maker Ethicon Endo-Surgery Inc., a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, for medical devices using propritetary Microvision technology. Under the agreement, Microvision will receive up to $6.2 million in license and additional fees to develop and deliver prototypes. Endo-Surgery will receive an option for an exclusive license to Microvision's technology for medical applications (excluding ophthalmology) and may elect to extend the development program to develop a commercial product for an additional fee. The agreement also contains terms under which Microvision may supply certain products to Ethicon. Further details were not disclosed.
