Osram GmbH, of Munich, Germany, announced it has signed a patent cross-license contract with Lite-On Technology Corp., a Taiwan optoelectronics manufacturer. Osram has granted Lite-On a royalty-bearing license to manufacture and sell surface-mount, light-emitting diodes (SMT LEDs) and white LEDs with conversion technology for which Osram holds patents. Typical applications include backlighting for mobile phones and car radio displays. Osram Opto Semiconductors, a subsidiary of Osram GmbH, developed conversion technology for LEDs that enables white LEDs to be produced using blue-emitting indium gallium nitride-based chips and a suitable fluorescent converter. Osram holds patents for several SMT LEDs packages and mounting forms. SMTs are very small, low-profile devices that allow greater design flexibility and facilitate processing in industrial series manufacturing.   . . .   Denver-based satellite imaging company Space Imaging announced it has signed an agreement with Antrix Corp., a division of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), to extend its sales and marketing agreement through 2010. The agreement gives Space Imaging exclusive rights to market and sell data from ISRO's RESOURCESAT-1 satellite worldwide outside of India. The agreement also includes the Indian remote-sensing 1-C and IRS 1-D and CARTOSAT satellites.   . . .   ST Assembly Test Services Ltd. (STATS), a semiconductor test and advanced packaging service provider, announced today that its CFO, Dov Oshri, has resigned for personal reasons. STATS' vice president of finance, Pearlyne Wang, will assume Oshri's responsibilities until a replacement is found.
