Ondax Inc. received an award for photorefractive innovations in optical add-drop multiplexers at the 9th International Conference on Photorefractive Effects, Materials and Devices, held in Nice, France, in June. Ondax, a three-year-old startup company spun out from the California Institute of Technology and the University of Osnabrueck (Germany), has developed a proprietary holographic technology to fabricate filters.   . . .   LCA-Vision Inc., a provider of laser vision correction services under the LasikPlus brand, today announced that Kevin M. Hassey is joining the company as president, effective August 1. He succeeds Joseph B. Dzialo, who is leaving the company to pursue other business opportunities. LCA-Vision owns and operates 33 LasikPlus laser vision correction facilities in the US, two centers in Canada and a joint venture in Europe.   . . .   At the annual International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine meeting held last week in Toronto, GE Medical Systems unveiled advanced magnetic resonance (MR) imaging techniques for its EXCITE platform which the company says provide unprecedented resolution and speed for imaging of the breasts, lower extremity vasculature and stroke.
