The SSI SCHAEFER Group, an international provider of modular warehousing and logistics solutions, and DS AUTOMOTION, a provider of mobile robotics, signed an agreement under which SSI SCHAEFER will acquire all shares in DS AUTOMOTION. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. DS AUTOMOTION will continue to operate independently under its established brand. SSI SCHAEFER has held minority interest in DS AUTOMOTION since 2018. The company said its acquisition, of which the remaining shares will take effect March 1, 2023, reflects the growing importance of autonomous and mobile robotics and the automated guided vehicles business in intralogistics. DS AUTOMOTION will continue to operate in production and health care logistics as well as assembly systems.
