DPSS Lasers Hires Two VPs and Senior Laser Engineer

Laser manufacturer DPSS Lasers Inc. of Santa Clara, Calif., announced its continued expansion by adding Randy Kimball, Jouni Partanen and Jingang Lui to its team. Newly appointed Vice President of Business Development Randy Kimball brings 30 years of sales, marketing, business development and general management experience to his position. Previously, Kimball was founder and CEO of Western Digitech, a computer sales and service company. He has also served as general manager of Sensor Physics and vice president of sales for LiCONiX. As global sales and marketing manager, PerkinElmer Optoelectronics Medical Illumination, he increased sales more than 350 percent in three years. Partanen was named vice president of research and development. He has a PhD in physics from Helsinki University of Technology, and his past experience includes research positions with the Technical Research Centre of Finland and the prestigious Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxford, England. Since 1994, Jouni has been engineering manager and senior scientist for 3D Systems Inc. in Valencia, Calif., responsible for both laser development and application of lasers in solid imaging. DPSS Lasers named Liu as its senior laser engineer. Liu brings over eight years of laser engineering experience to his new position, including several years in Singapore and Korea. He received his PhD in laser optics from Beijing Institute of Technology.
