MINNEAPOLIS, Minn., April 8 -- CyberOptics Corporation has acquired Kestra Ltd., a UK-based automated optical inspection (AOI) systems developer. Kestra's AOI concept differs from existing systems in that it uses statistical appearance modeling to teach itself to recognize any object. CyberOptics acquired all of Kestra's stock and repaid certain indebtedness for a total consideration of approximately $11.5 million in cash.
