NATICK, Mass., March 18 -- Three companies in the infrared measurement and spectroscopy sectors -- Wilks Enterprise Inc., Optical Coating Corp. and IR Microsystems -- have formed a strategic alliance to develop compact infrared measurement spectroscopy products for process analytical technologies.
South Norwalk, Conn.-based Wilks Enterprise, which recently merged with Optical Coating, makes analytical instruments for on-site analyses in the field, plant or laboratory and in-line sensors for process control measurements. Both types of products are for dedicated quantitative applications, and analyses are made by measuring the amount of energy absorbed by the sample at specific wavelengths in the near or mid-infrared spectral regions. Optical Coating specializes in thin-film optical coatings and components for use in the visible and near-infrared through the far-infrared wavelength ranges.
IR Microsystems is a Lausanne, Switzerland, manufacturer of uncooled pyroelectric infrared µray detector arrays and spectrometry subsystems based on linear variable filter technology.
