CoolLED, Tek5 Systems Launch CoolLED USA

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y., Nov. 22, 2012 — UK-based light-source manufacturer CoolLED Ltd. has teamed up with Tek5 Systems LLC to support research and OEM users of CoolLED products in the US and Canada.

The new business, CoolLED USA, will operate in conjunction with existing distribution networks.

CoolLED, of Andover, UK, was the first to commercialize an LED illumination unit for fluorescence microscopy; today, it continues to develop products for the life sciences and other markets.

Tek5 systems of Yorktown Heights specializes in microscope and instrument automation with a range of optoprecision components and accessories. The company has provided microscope stages and peripherals for more than 20 years.

The formal agreement was signed during the Neuroscience 2012 meeting in New Orleans.
