Comptek Secures $8.7M Series A Funding

TURKU, Finland, Aug. 16, 2023 — University of Turku (Finland) spinout Comptek Solutions has secured an €8 million ($8.7 million) series A funding round that will allow the company to expand its team and technology portfolio. The company is focused on passivation for compound semiconductor devices with applications in optoelectronics and power electronics. Specifically, the technology could prove useful in the adoption of technologies such as 5G/6G communications, AR and VR, Internet of Things, and quantum computing. The funding round saw participation from the Horizon Europe EIC Fund and LIFTT SpA, a deep-tech-focused venture capital firm. Comptek Solutions received a €2.45 million grant in 2022 from the EIC Accelerator.
