EZ Bright Corp., of Osaka, Japan, announced it has made an exclusive agreement with Coleash Co. Inc. of Tampa, Fla., for the distribution of its photoluminescent pigments in the US and and Canada. EZ Bright's photoluminescent pigments contain strontium alumates which, compared to zinc sulfide-based pigments, has a longer afterglow period, contains no toxic substances and are "hardly influenced" by ultraviolet rays, the company said. The pigments are used in safety exit signs and markings, building materials, paints, inks, plastic products and advertising supplies. In addition to producing blue-emitting (with a patent license from LED maker Nichia Corp.) and green-emitting pigments, the company has developed pigments emitting sky-blue and orange.
