Carl Zeiss Meditec Inc. (CZM) of Dublin, Calif., has purchased Laser Diagnostic Technologies Inc. of San Diego. The acquired company's projected revenues for 2004 are roughly $20 million and are expected to increase with the added capabilities of CZM. The acquisition will enable CZM, which has headquarters in Jena, Germany, to offer broader options for the diagnosis and management of glaucoma. Laser Diagnostic's GDx VCC glaucoma diagnosis and management tool complements CZM's StratusOct, a multipurpose retinal imaging system.
