CVI Laser LLC, an Albequerque, N.M.-based maker of optical components, is adding a series of F-Theta lenses to its product offering for the industrial materials processing market, it announced today at Photonics West. F-Theta lenses are used to collimate the output of a scanning mirror system, which aare used in laser marking, welding and cutting applications. "We have delivered high energy optics to the industrial market for over 32 years," said Bob Soales, vice president of sales and marketing. "This is natural fit to the rest of our product line of beam-steering optical components and assemblies. Our industrial customers have been asking us to provide these lens options, and we are responding." Soales said the lens is one of six new products it is showcasing this week. The company also announced it has received ISO 9001:2000 certification for the design, manufacture and sale of precision optics, coatings and assemblies. CVI's quality system was assessed at its Albequerque facility by CICS, based in Stoke-on-Trent, England.
