In Dunfermline, UK, CRL Opto Ltd., a supplier of high-resolution ferroelectric liquid-crystal-on-silicon microdisplays and related items, has acquired the microdisplay production assets and inventory of MicroVue Ltd. from that company's liquidators. CRL intends to reactivate the microdisplay fabrication process and to incorporate the production into its business. Besides providing board-level devices to its customers in specialty areas such as printing, near-to-eye headsets, defense training and simulation, and the automotive and medical industries, CRL will focus on supplying its products to growing high-volume markets.
