Byatt Appointed to ProPhotonix Board
SALEM, N.H., July 7, 2010 — LED systems and diode-based laser modules manufacturer ProPhotonix Ltd. announced the appointment of Duncan Byatt as a non-executive director of the company.
Byatt has over 25 years of experience as an investment professional. He began his career at Ivory & Sime, and has lived in Japan, Europe and Africa. During his time in London, he managed the Gartmore US small company funds at Gartmore Investment Management Ltd.
In addition, he founded Eagle & Dominion Asset Management in late 1998, and has launched two new investment funds that were created principally to invest in growth companies in the US and Europe. In 2006, he was appointed senior managing director at Bear Stearns Asset Management London and headed its global growth equity team until early 2008.
In 2009, he undertook the planning and launch of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry, where he currently holds the position of chief executive.
Byatt joins the company at a key stage in its growth strategy. While it holds a strong position in the machine vision market, it will leverage its LED technology and develop its market share in the medical sector and the architectural, commercial and industrial illumination sectors where demand is growing rapidly, said Mark Blodgett, chairman and CEO of the company.
