ANTWERP, Belgium, April 3, 2012 — Scientific instruments and solution provider Bruker Corp. has acquired all the shares of SkyScan NV, a supplier of microcomputed tomography systems for 3-D x-ray imaging. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Bruker expects the acquisition to add approximately $13 million to its revenue for the remainder of the year. SkyScan’s revenue is derived about 50 percent from materials science and 50 percent from life science and preclinical imaging applications.

SkyScan, renamed Bruker microCT NV, will continue to operate from its premises in Belgium under its previous management. The new business will continue to produce micro-CT instruments under the SkyScan brand and will provide enhanced global support for instrument installation.

Bruker intends to invest in additional micro-CT applications and demonstration centers to further enhance customer collaborations and support worldwide.
