ROCKY HILL, N.J., Oct. 26 -- Bruker AXS Inc. today announced an agreement to acquire the x-ray microanalysis business of Princeton Gamma-Tech Instruments Inc. (PGT). Terms were not disclosed, and the acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of this year.
Bruker AXS announced On Oct. 14 an agreement to acquire Roentec AG, an x-ray microanalysis company based in Berlin, Germany. After the closing of both transactions, Roentec AG and the PGT microanalysis business will be combined into the new Bruker AXS Microanalysis Group.
PGT's microanalysis business features an x-ray microanalysis product line with data acquisition and analysis software features and has distribution and service capabilities in the US, UK and France. Roentec, an x-ray instrumentation company, has a microanalysis product line that features detector technology and ultrafast acquisition electronics. Roentec also developed mobile systems for the XRF microanalysis of artwork and transportable total reflection x-ray fluorescence (TXRF) systems for elemental trace analysis in liquids, e.g., for environmental or beverage analysis. Roentec has distribution and service capabilities in continental Europe and in other countries.
