Bruker AXS Acquires Microanalysis Businesses

To strengthen its presence in the nanotechnology and advanced materials research markets, Bruker AXS Inc. of Madison, Wis., has acquired Roentec AG, a Berlin-based x-ray microanalysis instrumentation company, and the microanalysis business of Princeton Gamma-Tech Instruments Inc. of Rocky Hill, N.J. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

While integrating the management teams of both businesses, the company has combined the units to form Bruker AXS Microanalysis Group, with operations in Berlin, Madison, the Princeton, N.J., area and Coventry, UK. Among other benefits of the purchases, Bruker’s worldwide distribution network is expected to enhance revenue growth for Roentec’s transportable microXRF and TXRF systems.
