Boston Scientific Names New CFO

Natick, Mass.-based medical device maker Boston Scientific Corp. announced this week that Sam Leno will join the company, on June 5, as chief financial officer (CFO) and executive vice president of finance and information systems. Leno is currently CFO and executive vice president of finance and corporate services for Zimmer Holdings Inc. He was previously CFO and senior vice president of Arrow Electronics Inc., and CFO and executive vice president of Corporate Express. From 1971 to 1994, he held various finance, accounting and leadership positions for Baxter International Inc./American Hospital Supply Corp., where he worked closely with Boston Scientific president and CEO Jim Tobin, then chief operating officer at Baxter. Leno will replace Larry Best, who will retire, effective July 6, to pursue an interest in private investing in the life sciences field, Boston Scientific said.
