OXFORDSHIRE, England, July 7 -- Bookham Technology plc, a manufacturer of components modules and subsystems for optical networks, announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Cierra Photonics Inc., based in Santa Rosa, Calif., which manufactures thin-film filters and other components for the fiber optic telecommunications industry.
Under the agreement, Bookham Technology will acquire substantially all of the assets and certain liabilities of Cierra Photonics, which will be issued 3,071,484 shares in Bookham Technology, worth about $3.7 million (£2.25 million), with a potential 4,200,000 additional shares over the next two years.
