Bio-Rad Levels Charges Against Zeiss

A dispute over rights to multiphoton fluorescence excitation has emerged between Carl Zeiss GmbH of Jena, Germany, and Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc. in Hertfordshire, UK.

Bio-Rad says it signed a worldwide exclusive license with Cornell University's research foundation in 1996 to commercialize and market the technology. Since then, it has worked with the Ithaca, N.Y., university to develop the technology.
