Fiber and copper network infrastructure solutions manufacturer Berk-Tek Inc. has expanded its EVERYTHING IP platform to include fiber optic solutions.

The company cites the evolution in wireless technology as reasons for the adoption. As the speed and bandwidth of wireless access points continues to increase with 802.11ac, Category 6A will be needed for each point, with more points needed to support the same square footage as previous generations. The EVERYTHING IP solution allows customers to extend their reach to 500 m at 40 Gbs without having to move to an expensive single-mode solution.

Berk-Tek is a manufacturer of more than 100 different network copper and fiber optic cabling products for the transport of high-speed data, voice and power transmissions.
