Lucent Technologies has announced the appointment of Bill O'Shea as chief technology officer and president of Bell Labs and Jeff Jaffe as president of Bell Labs Research and Advanced Technologies.O'Shea, 54, started his career at Bell Labs in 1972 and has since worked at AT&T and NCR. He replaces Arun Netravali, who will work in a new role as chief scientist.Jaffe, 47, joined Lucent last year as head of Bell Labs' Advanced Technologies Group.
