Basler CEO Dietmar Ley Elected to Chair VDMA Robotics + Automation Association

FRANKFURT, Germany, Dec. 4, 2024 — Members of VDMA Robotics + Automation Association have elected Basler CEO Dietmar Ley as chairman of the association. He succeeds Frank Konrad, CEO of Hahn Automation Group GmbH, Rheinböllen, who now serves as deputy chairman.

In addition to Ley and Konrad, the board of the VDMA Robotics + Automation Association is comprised of Lars Friedrich of Dürr Systems AG, Horst Heinol-Heikkinen of ASENTICS GmbH & Co. KG, Jörg Kipper of Festo Vertrieb GmbH & Co. KG, Martin Kullmann of ABB AG, Ralph Lehleuter of MAFU Automation GmbH, Markus Maurer of VITRONIC Machine Vision GmbH, Olaf Munkelt of MVTec Software GmbH, Cornelia Püschel of PÜSCHEL Automation GmbH & Co. KG, Enno Scharphuis of Bosch Rexroth AG, Volker Spanier of EPSON DEUTSCHLAND GmbH, and Ralf Winkelmann of FANUC Deutschland GmbH.

Additionally, the association’s Machine Vision, Automated Solutions, and Robotics divisions have elected new boards. Munkelt, co-founder and managing director MVTec Software; Kipper, managing director of Festo Vertrieb GmbH & Co. KG; and Spanier, head of Manufacturing Solutions at EPSON Deutschland GmbH, were elected to chair the boards of the Machine Vision, Automation Solutions, and Robotics divisions, respectively.
