Mobile spectroscopy solutions developer B&W Tek Inc. has won a 2016 R&D 100 Awards in the Analytical and Test category for its NanoLIBS handheld laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy analyzer. The NanoLIBS uses elemental analysis for the rapid identification and investigation of incoming raw material salts. The tool provides rapid pass/fail results in seconds for material identification against a library of salts based on elemental composition. The R&D 100 Awards honor the 100 most innovative technologies and services introduced in the last year. The 2016 winners were selected by an independent panel of more than 50 judges including professional consultants, university faculty members and industrial researchers.
