BAE Systems, a global defense, security and aerospace company, will provide Oshkosh Corp. with thermal cameras for 2,399 mine-resistant, ambush-protected all-terrain vehicles, or M-ATVs, under a $45 million multiyear contract. The thermal cameras will enable crews to view their surroundings while remaining within the vehicle’s protective armor. According to the company, they will increase situational awareness and safety for the vehicle’s occupants as well as improve mission effectiveness. The company’s Check-6 system features infrared camera systems installed inside the vehicles’ taillight housings to provide visibility in daylight, darkness and adverse weather.
