Avo Photonics Expands Volume Manufacturing Operations
Horsham, Pa.-based Avo Photonics, a manufacturer of photonic solutions for the communications, 
military and aerospace, and medical markets, announced it has recently expanded its volume production operations. The company said it has significantly upgraded its manufacturing equipment to meet high-volume, critical alignment requirements for optical assemblies. Avo Photonics has also added operators and technicians and more than doubled its Class 1000 cleanroom space. Director of Manufacturing Jeb Wu said the recovery of the optical market is one reason for the expansion. "We have added items such as automated die bonders and wire bonders, along with a vacuum reflow oven, measurement systems, a vibration test station, and multiple burn-in stations to enable rapid and repeatable production of our customer's products," he said.
