Automate to Showcase Innovations in Robotics, Vision, and AI

North America’s largest automation trade show, Automate, will return May 22-25 in Detroit to feature the latest advancements in robotics, vision, artificial intelligence, motion control, and more. Organized by A3, the Association for Advancing Automation, the four-day conference located at the Huntington Place Convention Center showcases cutting-edge manufacturing automation technology, this year from more than 600 exhibitors.

Automate 2023 will be the largest exhibition to date, featuring 300,000 sq ft of exhibit space.

“Over 20,000 people from around the world will come together at Automate to demonstrate what’s possible in automation today and in the future,” said Jeff Burnstein, president of A3.

The conference will feature more than 150 talks from industry professionals, whose presentations will provide updates on the latest trends and challenges faced by the industry today. Attendees can expect talks on topics such as autonomous mobile robots, 3D imaging methods, factory automation strategies, integration, cloud-based automation, and more.

Conference attendees can also register for the Certified Vision Professional and Motion Control Professional training programs, where they can earn certifications.

Each day will feature keynote speakers, such as Tom Izzo, the head coach of Michigan State University’s men’s basketball program; Gregory Robinson, former director of the James Webb Space Telescope; and Daniela Rus, professor of electrical engineering and computer science, as well as director of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at MIT.

The show will also feature a number of special events, including the annual Startup Challenge, to take place on Tuesday, May 23. The competition spotlights up-and-coming entrepreneurs and their startups in robotics and automation. Ten finalists will compete for the top $10,000 cash prize by pitching their technologies to a panel of industry expert judges.

A networking party will take place on Tuesday in the Huntington Place Atrium. On Wednesday, the Joseph F. Engelberger Awards Dinner and Ceremony will take place in the Grand Ballroom.
