RSoft Design Group Inc. of Ossining, N.Y., has hired the key employees and has acquired the intellectual property assets of Artis. Assets include the OptSim software for simulating optical communications systems and Artifex, a modeling and simulation environment for designing and validating network technologies.

OptSim and RSoft's LinkSim software will be merged to form a single, enhanced platform, and Artifex will join the company's full-spectrum photonics and network design automation suite. RSoft will continue supporting users of Artis software.
