PLYMOUTH, England, April 1, 2010 — Artemis Optical Ltd., a high precision, optical thin film coatings provider, has announced it will host a course titled, “Practical Design and Production of Optical Thin Films,” led by Ron Willey, a respected figure in the optical thin film industry.

To be held in Plymouth from May 24-28, the course will include an exclusive tour of the company’s factory. The facilities include a 22,000-sq-ft, environmentally controlled production area and a range of coating chambers.

Suitable for new coatings engineers, scientists, technical managers and technicians, the course will also be valuable to seasoned thin film scientists who are involved in the design, development and production of optical thin films. Practical design material will also be interspersed in the tutorial.

Willey has over 50 years of experience as an individual contributor and director of optical systems and coatings development, design and production. He holds four patents and has recently published two books. Additionally, he is a fellow of SPIE and the Optical Society of America (OSA), where he has served as a member for 50 years.
