Lambda Research Corp., a Littleton, Mass., developer of optical design software, announced that Alpha Precision Instrumentation Corp. is now a distributor in Taiwan and China of its TracePro and OSLO products. It will also provide technical support to existing TracePro and OSLO customers and conduct TracePro and OSLO training classes in that region. APIC is an engineering and technology service provider to manufacturers in Taiwan and China in various industries. TracePro is used for modeling and analyzing the propagation of light in imaging and nonimaging optomechanical systems in a wide variety of applications. Optical design software OSLO (optics software for layout and optimization of optical systems) is used to determine the optimum sizes and shapes of the elements in optical systems such as those in cameras, consumer products, communications systems, military/space technology and scientific instruments; to simulate the performance of optical systems; and to develop specialized software tools for optical design, testing and manufacturing.
