Allient Inc., a designer and manufacturer of specialty motion, controls, and power products, has acquired SNC Manufacturing Co., Inc., a designer and manufacturer of power technology. Following the deal's close, SNC will become a technology unit of Allient within the Allied Power Technology Pillar. According to Allient CEO Richard Warzala, the acquisition will provide Allient with greater reach into the industrial automation, defense, medical and in the energy and alternative energy markets. Jim Koepke, current president and COO of SNC, will continue to lead the company under Allient as vice president and general manager of the technology unit. Koepke will report to Allient's corporate vice president and group president Ashish Bendre. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. Allient, which was formerly known as Allied Vision Technologies until last summer, markets its offerings to the automation and robotics markets, among others.
