Alberta Hospitals Order Kodak Radiology Sytems

The Regional Shared Health Information Program (RSHIP) in Alberta, Canada, has placed a multimillion-dollar order for dozens of Kodak DirectView computed radiography (CR) and digital radiography (DR) systems, to be installed at 34 hospitals and health-care centers in the David Thompson Health and East Central Health regions over the next eight months. The order includes 43 DirectView CR systems, one DR 3000 system and numerous laser imaging systems and film digitizers. RSHIP also ordered DirectView Capture Link systems for scanning and image review functions on any networked CR system at each site throughout the hospital network. Kodak's CR and DR systems will provide high-resolution digital x-ray image capture for general radiology, emergency, intensive care and other departments within each hospital. Laser imagers output digital image files onto radiographic film, while film digitizers equip facilities to integrate existing film-based radiographs into a digital imaging workflow.
