A custom photodiode produced by Advanced Photonix Inc. of Ann Arbor, Mich., a supplier of optoelectronic solutions and terahertz instrumentation, has earned the company a $2.1 million contract from a supplier for the US Navy. The device will be used to build a supersonic, lightweight guided missile weapons system that engages multiple threats simultaneously.
