Advanced Photonix Awarded $2 Million in Contracts

Advanced Photonix Inc. of Ann Arbor, Mich., has received a $1 million order from the US military for LED arrays used in night-vision displays. The display allows soldiers to see in all types of battlefield conditions and combat situations. The company also was awarded a separate $1 million Phase II Small Business Innovation Research contract from the US Department of Homeland Security to develop a flexible terahertz metrology instrument that can be marketed to customers currently using nuclear-source gauges.
