PETALUMA, Calif., July 19 -- Advanced Fibre Communications Inc., a supplier of broadband solutions for the telecommunications industry, will keep on providing components for Tellabs' (Lisle, Ill.) Cablespan 2300 cable telephony system. Tellabs will buy components made by Advanced Fiber Communications through the rest of this year with the right to cancel in 2001.
Tellabs develops and services optical networking, next-generation switching and broadband access solutions. It uses Advanced Fiber Communication's technology to support dynamic time slot allocation, element management and GR-303 switch interface for its universal telephony distribution system's headend.
