AmeriCOM Adds President and CEO: People in the News: 5/1/24

AmeriCOM, the American Center for Optics Manufacturing, has added David Shelton as its president and CEO. Shelton has previous experience in the optics and materials science industries, infrared detection, and radiometry. Shelton's most recent experience was as an advanced systems manager at Ball Aerospace and he previously served as senior principal scientist for BAE Systems, Inc.

HERZOGENRATH, Germany — AIXTRON SE, a developer of deposition equipment for the semiconductor industry, has appointed Christian Ludwig as vice president of investor relations. Ludwig has previous experience in equipment purchasing for the semiconductor industry and equity analytics, most recently serving as vice president of investor relations, communications, and marketing at DEUTZ AG.

CALGARY, Alberta — Mining, oil, and gas venture GeologicAI has named Steve Buckley senior vice president of instrumentation. Buckley is founder of Photon Machines (now Teledyne Photon Machines), has held leadership positions at Ocean Optics, and most recently served as president of Block Engineering. He is former faculty at the University of California, San Diego, and currently serves as an affiliate associate professor in mechanical engineering at the University of Washington.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Celestial AI, developer of optical interconnect technology platforms, has appointed Diane Bryant to the company’s board of directors. Bryant has more than 30 years of semiconductor, AI, and public and private company experience, and currently serves as an independent board member at Broadcom and Haemonetics. She is the former chairman and CEO of medical technology and data company NovaSignal. Bryant also previously served as the COO of Google Cloud and on the United Technologies Corp board of directors from 2016 to 2020 where she was a member of the audit and finance committees.
