Laser Supplier Supports Charity

The MedicAlert Foundation of London announced that it has received a charitable donation of £10,000 from YAG laser marker supplier Baasel Lasertech (UK) Ltd. of Daventry, UK. The contribution supports MedicAlert's efforts to purchase a laser engraving system from the company.

For people with a medical condition, allergies or special needs, MedicAlert supplies a bracelet or necklace engraved with an identification number, the condition and a telephone number for the organization's emergency response center. A recent change in the London dialing code requires MedicAlert to reissue approximately 97,000 tags with the updated number before October. The £40,000 laser marking system will speed the production of new tags and improve the clarity and definition of the engraving.
