Patterson named CEO of Quantel USA

Steve Patterson has been named CEO of Quantel USA, a Quantel Laser subsidiary.

Patterson comes to Quantel after leading DILAS Diode Laser’s U.S. office through rapid growth and market expansion. A nine-year Army veteran, Patterson holds a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has authored numerous technical papers and has two patents to his name.

“Dr. Patterson’s leadership will supplement our strong U.S. team” said Laurent Schneider-Maunoury, general manager of the Quantel Group. “Rapid growth comes with its own set of challenges and Steve’s past success in such an environment will help ensure Quantel’s success.”

Quantel Laser — designer and manufacturer of high power, solid state lasers for scientific, industrial, military and medical applications — has been in the laser business since 1970, and has experienced strong growth across multiple product lines and markets. The Quantel USA subsidiary has led much of this growth with its products integrated into tools for semiconductor and display manufacturing, as well as instruments for LIBS, Laser Ablation and PIV.
